Machine Diagnostics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Machine Diagnostics Engineer to join Sulzer’s Flow division in Switzerland. The role focuses on pump technology diagnostics, supporting experimental dynamics, vibration, modal analysis, acoustics and data analysis to drive technology development.

Key responsibilities

• Project management and execution of Machine Diagnostics projects.
• Development of diagnostic and pump condition monitoring solutions.
• Analysis of pump and system operation data.
• Conduct vibration, acoustic and dynamic measurements in testbeds, analyse and interpret data.
• Support test‑bed activities with experimental dynamics, sensor and data‑acquisition tasks.
• Perform field vibration surveys and analysis on pumps.
• Travel to test facilities, customer sites or other locations as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑4 years of experience in machine dynamics, vibration, experimental modal analysis, acoustics, machinery diagnostics, condition monitoring and data analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation and experimental test campaigns.
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment; experience with pump technology is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
