Material Planner (80-100%)

About the role

ABB is looking for a Material Planner to manage end‑to‑end inventory planning and ensure efficient material flow from purchase requisition to customer delivery. The role is hybrid and supports the IPU Buy & Sell in Quartino, Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Define inventory policies using ABC/XYZ analysis to optimize stock levels and service performance.
• Calculate and maintain safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times and replenishment strategies in SAP.
• Coordinate material planning with call‑offs, converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders together with operations, buyers and services.
• Collaborate with buyers to improve supplier on‑time delivery, MOQ, quality, lead time and flexibility.
• Apply logistics knowledge to ensure material availability and end‑to‑end supply‑chain coordination.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in material planning.
• Degree in Management Engineering preferred.
• Strong data‑analysis, structured thinking, teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficient in SAP MM/PP.
• Advanced MS Excel.
• Power BI for reporting.
