Mechanical Engineer – Radar

About the role

Destinus is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to develop radar enclosures, radomes and related structures for European defence applications. You will work on lightweight, durable, RF‑transparent designs and see your concepts move quickly from CAD to prototype.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse enclosure and radome structures, selecting materials for strength, weight and corrosion resistance.
• Perform structural analysis for vibration, shock and wind loads and ensure sealing, gasketing and coating meet IP and MIL‑STD ratings.
• Develop mounting and integration solutions for vehicles, towers, UAVs and stationary installations, guaranteeing precise radar alignment.
• Design passive and active thermal management systems, run thermal simulations and support PCB thermomechanical co‑design.
• Support prototyping, manufacturing and quality assurance to ensure manufacturability of designs.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter (TC).
• Experience with mechanical FEA and thermal simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of material properties (metals, composites, polymers) and environmental sealing standards (IP65/IP67, MIL‑STD).
• Familiarity with precision mechanical assemblies, tolerancing and relevant standards (ISO‑GPS a plus).
• Background in radar, RF systems or high‑frequency electronics packaging is preferred.
