National Consultant – WTO Accession Support (Ethiopia)

About the role

The International Trade Centre is seeking a National Consultant to support Ethiopia’s WTO accession process. Over a six‑month period, you will provide monthly trade‑policy analysis, technical inputs to negotiations, and advisory services to the Chief Negotiator, ITC and the WTO Secretariat.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly trade‑policy and WTO accession analysis reports.
• Draft position papers, briefing notes and official correspondence for WTO negotiations.
• Update accession documentation, Working Party Report inputs, and progress‑tracking matrices.
• Document stakeholder consultations, technical meetings and capacity‑building activities.
• Provide ongoing technical advisory support and produce monthly progress reports with work plans.

Required profile

• Strong background in international trade policy and WTO accession processes.
• Experience in preparing technical negotiation inputs and policy analysis reports.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and document outcomes effectively.
