Operator – Cleanroom Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

Coherent Corp. is building a talent pool of operators to support its Zurich cleanroom production lines for optoelectronic components and laser diodes. You will work in a modern cleanroom environment, performing precise manual tasks and operating production equipment while maintaining high product‑quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor process equipment in a cleanroom semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Load, unload, and set up production equipment.
• Perform process control, measurements, and inspections using microscopes and technical tools.
• Execute precise manufacturing steps according to written work instructions.
• Record and document production activities in ERP systems.
• Support pre‑ and post‑production tasks such as cleaning, material handling, and basic maintenance.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement activities together with technicians and engineers.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and cleanroom standards.

Required profile

• No specific formal degree required; interest in technical or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in manufacturing, cleanroom, microtechnology or similar environments is an advantage.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and high concentration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a structured and reliable work style.
• Willingness to work shift‑based schedules (early and late shifts).
• Fluent German required; basic English is a plus.
