Process Engineer – BiMOS Backend (Assembly)

About the role

As a Process Engineer for the BiMOS Backend, you will work on advancing automated power module production for a global leader in power semiconductor technology. You will improve existing manufacturing processes and lead innovative development projects, focusing on automated chip assembly and soldering.

Key responsibilities

• Improve chip‑attach capabilities using statistical methods and design of experiments.
• Analyse production data to enhance process performance, identify trends and prevent failures.
• Lead optimisation of automated production systems to increase capacity, stability and quality.
• Support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis to sustain and improve throughput.
• Contribute to new product development by shaping production processes and supporting volume‑manufacturing transition.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience in an automated production environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and quality‑focused mindset.
• Proficiency in German and English.

• Machine‑vision and automated inspection.
• Pick‑and‑place processes.
• Statistical methods and design of experiments (DoE).
• Data analysis and production statistics.
• Six Sigma methodology.
