Produce Team Leader

About the role

As a Produce Team Leader at Meijer, you will oversee daily operations of the produce department, ensuring excellent customer service, product presentation, and sales performance. You will mentor and coach team members while maintaining store standards and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day‑to‑day produce department operations.
• Mentor, coach, and train staff, fostering career development and succession planning.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and meet P&L targets.
• Maintain store appearance, product presentation, and compliance with company standards during peak shopping hours.
• Handle staffing, hiring, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
• Monitor shrink, ensure safety, and promote a safe work environment.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and customer interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years of retail experience, with at least one year in a management or supervisory role.
• Experience in multiple store areas (e.g., meat, bakery, deli, customer service) is a plus.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical data to make informed decisions.
• Commitment to safety and consistent attendance.
