Professor in Luxury Business and Hospitality Management

About the role

The Glion Institute of Higher Education seeks a senior academic leader to join its Luxury Business and Hospitality Management department in Bulle, Switzerland. The professor will advance applied research, integrate industry insights, and deliver graduate and executive teaching in luxury hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate high‑quality applied research, contributing to accreditation KPIs and enhancing Glion’s thought‑leadership.
• Integrate industry partnerships and practitioner data into research projects, teaching, and externally funded initiatives.
• Support strategic development of the department by shaping research themes, pursuing funding, and fostering cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Provide research leadership and mentorship to junior faculty, supervise publication pipelines, and assist with grant applications.
• Teach graduate and executive courses, embedding research insights into curriculum and student experience.
• Ensure academic excellence through curriculum innovation, modern pedagogical design, and adherence to quality standards.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
• Internationally recognised research record in luxury hospitality with high‑impact publications.
• Proven success in securing research grants, industry partnerships, or externally funded projects.
• Significant experience developing and leading academic programmes and research initiatives.
• Leadership experience in an academic or research environment.
• Strong understanding of luxury hospitality trends, challenges and opportunities, with extensive industry networks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
