Programme Management Intern

About the role

The Programme Management Intern will support the Office of the Secretariat of the UN Secretary‑General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva. Working under the Coordinator, the intern will contribute to research, communications and event support to advance global road‑safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research to identify potential partners and inform the Special Envoy’s activities.
• Draft articles, briefing notes and outreach communications to raise awareness of the road‑safety crisis.
• Research initiatives linking road safety with other Sustainable Development Goals.
• Assist in planning and executing events, campaigns, projects and activities for the Special Envoy.
• Support social‑media activities and other communications tasks.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Secretariat.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme (second university degree or equivalent) or in the final year of a first‑degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level).
• Fluency in English (working language of the UN Secretariat).
