Project Accountant

About the role

The Project Accountant at Diverzify+ supports the financial side of commercial flooring installation projects. Reporting to the Director of Project Accounting, you will prepare invoices, manage billing packages, and act as the primary billing liaison for project managers, contractors, and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project billing and accounting tasks for assigned projects.
• Prepare standard invoices and AIA G702/703 monthly draw packages.
• Gather documentation for stored material billing, including bills of sale, certificates of insurance, and material photos.
• Follow up on pay applications, revise as needed, and post preliminary invoices.
• Utilize payment management systems such as Textura, GC Pay, and Procore.
• Identify and correct billing errors, process credits, and ensure smooth workflow.
• Participate in bi‑weekly WIP meetings and regular AR meetings.
• Serve as point of contact for general contractors and customers on billing and funding matters.
• Prepare partial/final waivers of lien and obtain supplier waivers.
• Resolve unapplied cash, conduct proactive outreach for collections, and maintain accurate aging records.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills for interaction with contractors, customers, and internal teams.
• Experience preparing invoices and billing packages for construction projects.
• Ability to monitor accounts receivable and support collection efforts.
