Python Developer – AI Expert (Remote, Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Python Backend Developer to join our customer’s team remotely on a part‑time contract. You will design, build and continuously improve robust backend APIs while collaborating with AI researchers to test and shape next‑generation developer tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise REST and GraphQL endpoints for scalable APIs.
• Implement data validation, error handling and security best practices in backend services.
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning and schema changes.
• Test AI‑powered models in Cursor, providing detailed incident reports, bug traces and screenshots.
• Participate in intensive 4‑day testing bursts to evaluate AI impact on coding workflows.
• Engage with the research team via Slack, sharing findings and proposing improvements.
• Complete post‑burst surveys delivering insights on model performance and developer experience.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience with Python.
• Strong communication skills for clear incident and bug reporting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, confidential, collaborative remote environment.
