R&D Project Engineer – Watch Jewellery Enclosure

About the role

The Research & Development division seeks an R&D Project Engineer to design the enclosure of future luxury jewellery watches. The role contributes directly to meeting Rolex quality standards through innovative mechanical and aesthetic solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop enclosure solutions that meet aesthetic and technical targets.
• Generate innovative concepts, including unconventional ideas, during ideation phases.
• Perform functional analyses and tolerance specifications for developed concepts.
• Participate in risk assessments and technical qualification activities alongside reliability engineers and digital analysts.
• Collaborate with industrialisation teams to ensure smooth transition to production.
• Document methodologies and present technical reports during project reviews.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (HES/EPF) in Microtechnology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency with CREO and PLM tools.
• Knowledge of functional analysis methods, ISO‑GPS dimensioning, and Cetol is a plus.
• Experience in micromechanical construction, preferably in watch, bracelet, dial or jewellery enclosure.
• Versatile, autonomous, analytical, objective, and rigorous.
• Curious, open‑minded and proactive within multidisciplinary teams.
