Regional Grant Acquisition Manager – Africa

About the role

HEKS/EPER, Swiss Church Aid is looking for a Regional Grant Acquisition Manager to lead grant acquisition across its Africa portfolio. The role focuses on identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals and strengthening donor relationships to support country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Identify donors and funding opportunities aligned with HEKS/EPER’s strategic goals through mapping and networking.
• Lead or support proposal development, ensuring high‑quality design, budgeting and compliance.
• Engage with key donors, represent the organisation at external events and prepare donor briefings.
• Build capacity of staff and partners on grant acquisition, donor compliance and knowledge management.

Required profile

• University degree in International Development, Relations, Communication, Macro‑Economics or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in grant acquisition or institutional fundraising in the development/humanitarian sector.
• Proven success obtaining grants from bilateral/multilateral donors such as EU, SDC, USAID or UN agencies.
• Excellent English (C2) and solid French; additional languages an asset.
• Willingness to travel extensively across African country offices.

• Logframe development and budgeting.
• Project Cycle Management (PCM).
