Reinsurance Claims Specialist

About the role

The Reinsurance Claims Specialist supports AXIS Re’s commitment to delivering timely, accurate, and consistent reinsurance claims service. Working closely with underwriting, actuarial, finance and legal teams, you will contribute to claim analysis, portfolio monitoring and operational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Handle assigned reinsurance claims in line with AXIS Re’s guidelines, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
• Review claim notifications, loss advices, bordereaux and supporting documentation to ensure accurate claim handling.
• Maintain claim files and records in systems such as SICS and the Reinsurance Desktop (RDT).
• Establish and monitor claim reserves, escalating significant issues and trends.
• Communicate professionally with brokers, cedants, reinsurers and internal stakeholders regarding claim status.
• Support audits, quality‑assurance initiatives and regulatory compliance activities.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Up to three years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, financial services or a related analytical environment.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team‑oriented setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience using claim management platforms such as SICS and the Reinsurance Desktop (RDT).
• Familiarity with Power BI or other data‑analytics/reporting tools.
