About the role
ABB is seeking a Research Scientist to advance Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity. You will work in a hybrid setting at the ABB Research centre in Baden‑Dättwil, contributing to the security architecture of ABB’s software‑based industrial products.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to research projects that transform state‑of‑the‑art results into practical software solutions for ABB.
- Create prototypes of innovative concepts with measurable business impact.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their influence on ABB product road‑maps.
- Disseminate findings through scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.
Required profile
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Hands‑on experience in software engineering and system design.
- Deep knowledge in OT security, computer security, distributed or embedded systems, secure communications or applied cryptography.
- Proven track record of publications in top‑tier scientific venues.
Required skills
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Proficiency in Rust programming.
