Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager – Financial Services Legal

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager to join its Financial Services Legal team in Geneva. You will support banks, asset managers, insurers and other financial intermediaries in complex compliance matters across the French‑speaking region of Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regulatory and legal advice on topics such as AML, LCB/FT, ESG, data protection, cross‑border activities and market abuse.
• Review and draft internal processes, directives, contractual documentation and internal control systems for clients.
• Lead client engagements, manage project planning, resource allocation, budgeting and reporting to senior client stakeholders.
• Conduct regulatory monitoring and produce concise audit reports for prudential audits.
• Act as subject‑matter expert in publications, presentations and external seminars.

Required profile

• Swiss lawyer qualification or equivalent Swiss legal training.
• 4‑7 years of experience in legal or compliance functions within a large consultancy, law firm or financial institution in Switzerland.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss regulatory framework covering AML, LCB/FT, ESG, data protection, market abuse, electronic signatures, etc.
• Fluent French and English (minimum C1); German and/or Italian are a plus.
• Swiss residence (regulatory requirement) and client‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Expertise in Swiss financial services regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to draft and revise regulatory processes, internal directives and contractual documents.
• Project leadership and team management experience.
