Senior Designer - Rear Fuselage & Tail Structures

About the role

AYES Switzerland, an engineering and technology consulting company based in Baden and active in automotive, aerospace, space and defense, railway, energy and life sciences, is looking for a Senior Designer for rear fuselage and tail structures. The position is based in Lucerne, Switzerland, on a permanent, full-time contract. The salary will be discussed during the recruitment process, taking into account seniority and responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop metallic structures for rear fuselage and tail assemblies, covering ATA Chapters 53 and 55.
• Perform detailed 3D modelling and generate 2D technical drawings using Siemens NX.
• Support structural design from concept development through prototyping and production.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles to ensure efficient manufacturing and assembly.
• Work with stress engineering, manufacturing and certification teams to meet technical requirements.
• Contribute to aircraft structural design development and optimisation in line with certification requirements.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in aircraft structural design, particularly metallic structures.
• Proven experience in rear fuselage and tail structures, especially ATA Chapters 53 and 55.
• Knowledge of CS-23 / Part 23 certification requirements.
• Experience in detail design, prototyping and product development.
• Good knowledge of Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Good command of English.

• CS-23 / Part 23 certification knowledge.
