Senior DevOps Engineer – Bern (80-100%)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a technology‑driven organisation that operates a large‑scale, mission‑critical web platform in Bern, Switzerland. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, IT operations, and architecture, helping to drive a digital transformation focused on scalability, security, and long‑term platform excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure stable, secure, and highly available operation of complex application environments.
• Design and implement modern deployment and release strategies using GitOps principles.
• Build, optimise, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
• Collaborate with software engineers on system architecture and platform integration.
• Develop and manage scalable Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Strengthen observability, monitoring, and operational excellence across environments.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience operating Kubernetes platforms in production.
• Proven expertise with Docker, Helm, and ArgoCD.
• Experience building and managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and backend technologies such as Spring Boot.
• Ability to work in large‑scale or complex programme environments.
• Solution‑oriented problem‑solving mindset.
