Senior Hardware Engineer

About the role

The R&D team at an international RFID and smart‑device group is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to own product hardware from concept through mass production at their Swiss headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Design mixed‑signal, RF and digital boards, covering schematic capture, PCB layout and sampling.
• Debug prototypes and pre‑series units, ensuring designs meet specifications.
• Transition products to volume production and support daily manufacturing and industrialisation issues.
• Develop test systems and production equipment for PCBA validation at suppliers or incoming inspection.
• Manage change requests, including second sources, component alternatives, EOL, yield and quality improvements.
• Analyse field returns, perform failure analysis and drive product improvements.
• Maintain design documentation, test plans and quality records aligned with production.
• Monitor new technologies and introduce innovative solutions to the R&D team.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of hands‑on electronic design in an R&D environment.
• Strong experience in both analog and digital design, from schematic to layout.
• Proven track record of taking boards into volume production.
• Good English; additional languages such as Italian, German or French are a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

What we offer

• Permanent contract at the Swiss R&D headquarters.
• Gross annual salary between CHF 70,000 and CHF 90,000, based on seniority.
• Full product lifecycle involvement from concept to field.
