Senior Java Platform Engineer – Banking Sector

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java Platform Engineer to design, implement, and operate robust backend services for a banking platform. You will work on Java‑based APIs, integrate with enterprise databases, and support production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java (8/11/17) micro‑services using Spring 4/5 and Spring Boot 2.x/3.x.
• Create and document REST and SOAP APIs, manage OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• Build operational front‑end/admin consoles with Vue.js or Angular when needed.
• Integrate with Oracle and MS SQL Server using JPA/Hibernate, write SQL/PL‑SQL, and handle schema migrations with Liquibase.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines (YAML) with Maven, Git, and enforce quality gates and automated tests.
• Apply secure authentication (Kerberos, OAuth2/OIDC) and follow AppSec best practices (OWASP, input validation, secret management).
• Develop unit, integration, and BDD/ATDD tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, Cucumber, and Jest.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot incidents, analyse performance, and improve reliability.
• Document APIs, architectural decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures in JIRA.

Required profile

• 7–15 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in regulated banking environments.
• Strong backend expertise with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST/SOAP, and HTTP fundamentals.
• Experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server, JPA/Hibernate, and Liquibase.
• Hands‑on knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Maven, and YAML pipeline definitions.
• Familiarity with security protocols (Kerberos, OAuth2/OIDC) and AppSec guidelines.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
• Organised, reliable in production support, and able to communicate clearly across teams.
