Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

ALTEN Switzerland is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to support an important client in the banking and digital domain. You will join an Agile Release Train in a SAFe context and contribute to innovative CRM projects, new transversal features and bugfixing on enterprise systems. The position is based in Lugano, Switzerland, on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to CRM projects and the development of new transversal features.
• Carry out bugfixing activities on enterprise systems.
• Analyze functional and technical requirements and actively take part in defining solutions.
• Contribute to product documentation and its continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in backend development in enterprise contexts.
• Solid experience in back-end development in Java and front-end skills in Angular.
• Quality-oriented, able to collaborate in cross-functional teams and motivated by scalable, modern solutions.
• Fluent English and Italian, spoken and written.

Required skills

• Java 11+ (up to JDK 21), with strong use of Stream, Lambda and try-with-resources.
• Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Data and ORM (Hibernate, JPA).
• Angular (recent versions), TypeScript, Angular Material and UI components.
• Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), including stored procedures.
• Nice to have: Camunda BPM, cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP), enterprise CRM, end-to-end testing (Selenium/Tosca) and DevOps tooling (Docker, AppDynamics/Dynatrace).
