Senior Mechanical Engineer CO2 Compressor – Carbon Capture

About the role

Kanadevia Inova, a global player in waste infrastructure and waste-to-X technology, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its CO2 compressor project in carbon capture. The role is based in Zürich and involves defining the compressor package, coordinating engineering and supporting the team across carbon capture.

Key responsibilities

• Define work packages, write specifications for scope and services, prepare request for quotation documents, hold technical supplier meetings, select suppliers and ensure delivery of the lots.
• Coordinate and supervise concepts and basic engineering, resolve controversial issues and ensure interfaces between systems match.
• Clarify interfaces with civil, steel structure, construction, electrical and instrumentation, and plant layout, and integrate the lot into the plant.
• Collaborate actively with plant design on component installation and pipe routing.
• Receive, check, comment and approve engineering documents in time, then distribute them to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure regulatory compliance of the lots and support the construction and commissioning team mainly from the office.
• Travel 10-20% of the time to suppliers or on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in power generation and turbo machinery.
• Experience with industrial compressors (axial, centrifugal, reciprocating) is an asset.
• Strong coordination and negotiation skills, able to communicate with procurement, suppliers and site staff.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of industrial plant processes, mechanical equipment and systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs.
