Senior Mechanical Engineer – Medical Device Development

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our cross‑functional team in Rotkreuz, Switzerland. You will help shape the next generation of Blood Gas & Electrolytes analyzers, driving mechanical development from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Own project deliverables within a matrix‑organized structure and collaborate with external partners and suppliers.
• Lead full‑lifecycle mechanical development, emphasizing Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Design complex functional consumables for high‑volume injection molding using advanced plastic technologies.
• Participate in sprint‑based Agile planning, estimation, and execution alongside Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
• Conduct engineering analyses such as FEA, FMEA, tolerance analysis, and other physics‑based simulations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead cross‑functional technical reviews with R&D, Operations, and Customer Support.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (FH / BSc / MSc).
• 6–8 years of hands‑on experience in a highly regulated environment.
• Extensive expertise in injection‑molding design and plastic technologies, with a track record of developing cost‑optimized consumables for large‑scale production.
• Proven experience managing all phases of mechanical development and stakeholder/vendor relationships.
• Strong ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and drive projects to completion.
