Senior Network Security Engineer

About the role

Rieter, a global supplier of spinning machines and systems for the textile industry, is looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer in Winterthur. The role suits a service-oriented network professional who enjoys working in a global environment and wants to improve secure and reliable network services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate global network security infrastructure and solutions to protect against cybersecurity threats.
• Manage and continuously improve firewall, VPN, network segmentation and secure connectivity services.
• Provide second- and third-level support for network security infrastructure and services.
• Analyze internal customer requirements and develop secure, scalable network security solutions.
• Ensure compliance with global architecture, configuration and security standards.
• Improve the design, performance and reliability of existing network security environments.
• Lead and contribute to network security projects, including infrastructure and service lifecycle activities, cloud connectivity and security architecture improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HF in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related engineering field, or a technical training program.
• At least seven years of experience in enterprise network and/or network security engineering.
• Very good oral and written English and strong communication skills in an international environment.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation and IPSec.
• Knowledge of IDPS, NAC, cloud network security and wireless security.
• Experience with Huawei and Cisco LAN and WLAN components.
• Understanding of ISP and data centre environments (routing, switching, MPLS, BGP, load balancers).
• Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP and IP services.
• Hands-on experience in network security monitoring and troubleshooting.
