Senior System Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Systems Engineer you will support the full technical development of satellite missions – from early concept and requirements through launch and in‑orbit commissioning. You will coordinate system‑level activities, manage interfaces and maintain the technical baseline and engineering documentation for Clearspace’s current and future projects.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in technical planning, including schedule and cost management.
• Manage core systems‑engineering elements such as functional analysis, concept of operations, mission analysis, system modes, specification tree, requirements, interfaces and the engineering database.
• Lead risk, opportunity and resolution planning.
• Oversee subsystem and software design, ensuring proper interface control.
• Provide technical input to product‑assurance activities.
• Conduct technical assessments, trade‑offs, baseline definition and budget tracking.
• Write and maintain engineering documentation and control the system baseline.
• Plan development and validation for spacecraft and ground‑segment in line with program constraints.
• Support assembly, integration, verification, test (AIV/T) and launch phases.
• Assist launch and in‑orbit commissioning and iterate the system‑engineering process company‑wide.

Required profile

• (BSc/MSc) degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in the spacecraft industry.
• Proven experience in decomposing system requirements, conducting trade studies and developing sizing/error budgets for spacecraft systems.
• Familiarity with the full space‑program lifecycle from business development to successful delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Highly organized with the capacity to track multiple critical activities simultaneously.
