Senior Windows System Administrator (M365 / Citrix)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Windows System Administrator to join a well‑established Swiss IT and consulting organisation in Zurich. The role involves maintaining and optimising a highly virtualised Microsoft‑centric infrastructure for both internal and client environments, with the flexibility of two days of home‑office per week.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain Microsoft‑based servers and client systems.
• Manage and support M365 services such as Exchange and Teams.
• Administer Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops environments.
• Provide 2nd‑level incident troubleshooting and resolution.
• Install and optimise hardware, operating systems and standard software.
• Oversee backup, recovery processes and system performance tuning.
• Support security enhancements and vulnerability remediation.
• Participate in IT projects as required.

Required profile

• Formal background in IT Systems Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in complex, virtualised IT environments.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with a proactive, solution‑driven attitude.
• Strong team player with positive energy.

Required skills

• Microsoft Server and Client administration.
• Extensive experience with M365 (Exchange, Teams, etc.).
• Knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (strong advantage).
• Basic understanding of Linux and container technologies.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.
