Shipping Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Shipping Operator to manage the day‑to‑day operational aspects of tanker voyages. The role acts as the primary liaison between charterers and vessel owners, ensuring smooth execution and full compliance with charter party terms. It also includes accurate issuance of freight and commission invoices, freight calculations, and post‑fixture follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact between charterers and vessel owners for assigned fixtures.
• Monitor voyage performance and ensure adherence to schedules and operational requirements.
• Guarantee compliance with charter party agreements, both spot and time charter.
• Prepare, issue, and track freight and commission invoices, ensuring timely payment processing.
• Calculate freight costs and produce voyage estimations to support broking activities.
• Maintain accurate operational records and manage post‑fixture follow‑up activities.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in tanker operations (clean and dirty products; crude oil experience is a plus).
• Strong understanding of tanker charter parties and voyage operations.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
