Shipping Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Shipping Operator to manage the day‑to‑day operational aspects of tanker voyages. The role acts as the main liaison between charterers and vessel owners, ensuring smooth execution of voyages and full compliance with charter party terms. This is a one‑year fixed‑term maternity cover with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact between charterers and vessel owners for assigned fixtures.
• Monitor voyage performance, schedules and operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with spot and time charter party agreements.
• Prepare, issue and track freight and commission invoices, following up on payments.
• Calculate freight costs and produce voyage estimations to support broking activities.
• Maintain accurate operational records and manage post‑fixture follow‑up activities.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in tanker operations (clean and dirty products; crude oil experience is a plus).
• Strong understanding of tanker charter parties and voyage operations.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an asset.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
