Social Media & Media Intern – Communications & Events

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Communications and Events team. You will work closely with senior public information officers to create and manage content for ITC’s social media platforms and assist with media outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and produce daily content (text, illustration, photo, video) for ITC’s social media accounts.
• Compile and report social media analytics for research purposes.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues to generate ideas for content creation.
• Support visibility and advocacy campaigns on social media and traditional media.
• Identify and research influential trade bloggers, influencers, and journalists ahead of the Global SME Ministerial Meeting.
• Assist the media team with daily briefings and other ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme, a graduate programme, or a recent graduate (within one year of graduation).
• Strong journalistic writing and editing abilities.
• Interest in international trade, sustainable development, and gender equality.

Required skills

• Camera operation for photography and videography, including familiarity with mirrorless cameras or mobile journalism equipment.
• Working knowledge of multimedia production software for graphic design.
