Software Engineer – Automation & PLC Development

About the role

We are partnering with an established automation solutions company to find a Software Engineer who will design and develop innovative software for PLC programming and high-level language applications. You will work on cutting-edge automation projects, turning customer requirements into reliable control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, program and optimise PLC‑based control solutions using platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff or Codesys.
• Develop supporting software in high‑level languages (C++, C#, Java, Python) to extend functionality and integrate with existing systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to test, document and validate the solutions.
• Continuously improve code quality, performance and maintainability.

Required profile

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Analytical thinking with a structured approach to problem solving.
• Strong team spirit and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• PLC programming experience (Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff, Codesys).
• Proficiency in at least one high‑level language: C++, C#, Java or Python.
