Software Engineer – Backend (80‑100% time)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join a dynamic, internationally operating tech company. The position focuses on building scalable backend solutions for large‑scale data processing environments, offering a flexible 80‑100% work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust backend services for high‑volume data pipelines.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Java code following object‑oriented principles.
• Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 2‑6 years of professional backend development experience, preferably with Java.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming.
• Good command of written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
• Valid Swiss work permit (CH/EU/EFTA, B or C).
