Software Engineer (Healthcare AI)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Zurich‑based health‑tech startup. You will help deploy and scale our AI Nutrition Tracker in hospitals and extend it to outpatient settings, directly impacting patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate the system into hospital IT environments, connecting with clinical and kitchen software for reliable deployments.
• Lead the development of a mobile application for outpatient nutrition tracking.
• Work directly with clinicians and hospital IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into product features.
• Design and implement end‑to‑end features across backend, APIs, and user interfaces, owning the process from concept to deployment.
• Integrate hardware components such as RGB‑D cameras and edge devices, ensuring stable communication with cloud and hospital systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
• Strong programming skills with a focus on production‑ready Python code.
• Experience delivering end‑to‑end systems that combine software, hardware, and APIs.
• Comfortable interacting with customers, gathering requirements and delivering practical solutions.
• Ability to work across the stack (backend, APIs, basic UI) and adapt solutions to specific environments.
• Fluent German (C1+) and working proficiency in English.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with ownership from problem definition to deployment.
