Software Engineer - Platform Health & Tooling

About the role

A Swiss scale-up that turns distributed energy assets such as solar plants, batteries and EV chargers into virtual power plants trading flexibility on European electricity markets is hiring a new software engineer. The role is internal and infrastructure-facing, focused on owning system health, alerting and internal tooling, moving the team from reacting to problems to preventing them.

Key responsibilities

• Own the health and reliability of a production platform built on Kubernetes, including its databases, messaging layer and services
• Design, tune and maintain monitoring and alerting so issues are detected early and alerts stay clear and actionable
• Build internal tooling and automation: system health KPIs, dashboards, runbooks and automated remediation of recurring issues
• Investigate unfamiliar systems independently by reading code and logs, forming hypotheses and verifying them with limited guidance

Required profile

• 4-6 years of experience as a software, platform, SRE or DevOps engineer, including time in a startup or fast-paced environment
• Solid fundamentals: relational databases, networking basics and fluency in Python
• Hands-on experience deploying, operating and troubleshooting workloads on Kubernetes
• Excellent written English
• Nice to have: familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, Helm, GitHub Actions, Modbus or MQTT, and on-call or incident response experience
