SRE Engineer (Azure & AWS Infrastructure)

About the role

QA is hiring an SRE Engineer for its infrastructure team in Mendrisio, Switzerland, a location 7 km over the border from Italy and easily reachable from Milan, Como, Varese or Lugano. The team architects, implements and maintains a performing and elastic infrastructure, and the SRE works closely with engineers to build the infrastructure that runs the product. The company offers a hybrid remote working policy and can assist with relocation.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to defining and implementing the infrastructure, collaborating proactively with team members so goals are reached quickly without breaking production.
• Take part in the weekly on-call rotation (one week per shift), which is compensated according to company policy.
• Support the team's day-to-day operations and new AI architecture and data infrastructure initiatives.

Required profile

• Advanced expertise in Azure, including observability practices such as log management, alerting and monitoring.
• Experience managing AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, mainly Terraform; CloudFormation is a bonus.
• Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns for highly available, scalable and secure systems.
• Good understanding of scripting languages such as Python, Node.js, Golang and Bash.
• Good level of expertise in relational and non-relational databases: PostgreSQL, Redis and MySQL.
• Experience with distributed version control (mainly Git) and on-call processes using PagerDuty or similar.
• High level of spoken and written English, and ability to work independently and in a team with a sense of urgency and integrity.
