Sustainable Finance & Client-Facing Banking Professional

About the role

UNEP FI is looking for a Sustainable Finance and Client‑Facing Banking Professional to advance the Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB) agenda. The consultant will work directly with banks to translate sustainability ambitions into concrete client‑engagement strategies, focusing on high‑impact sectors and SMEs.

Key responsibilities

• Engage commercial banking clients on sustainability impacts, risks and opportunities.
• Bridge sustainability functions and front‑office banking units to ensure commitments become tangible products and services.
• Support banks in developing client‑facing business opportunities aligned with PRB.
• Provide guidance on integrating sustainability considerations into banking processes for high‑risk sectors and SME portfolios.

Required profile

• Commercially minded professional with strong banking and client‑facing experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in sustainable finance and the Principles for Responsible Banking.
• Experience working with commercial clients in high‑impact or risk sectors and with SMEs.
