SWAN Core Developer (Full‑Stack, DevOps)

About the role

As a core member of the SWAN team at CERN, you will design and implement new full‑stack features, integrate the SWAN platform with other services, and take part in DevOps, deployment and maintenance activities. SWAN (Service for Web‑based Analysis) provides researchers and engineers with easy access to computing resources, software and data analysis tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new full‑stack functionalities and integrations with external services.
• Participate in DevOps tasks, including containerisation, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure maintenance.
• Collaborate with other developers in an agile environment.
• Maintain code repositories, conduct code reviews and perform testing.

Required profile

• Experience in web development, preferably with Python.
• Hands‑on experience with DevOps concepts, containerisation and CI/CD.
• Maximum two years of professional experience after graduation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• Fluent in English or French, with willingness to learn the other language.

• Fixed‑term contract of 24 months, extendable up to 36 months.
