Systems & IT Engineer (80-100%)

About the role

Papers is looking for a Systems & IT Engineer to manage and improve its self‑hosted Linux infrastructure. You will work on a fleet of dedicated servers, ensure security and reliability, and support cutting‑edge web3 services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Ubuntu servers, apply OS and security updates, and manage reboots.
• Design, build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Docker and Docker Compose.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Ansible.
• Define backup, disaster‑recovery processes and run the observability stack (Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana, Graylog).
• Administer Microsoft 365 / Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity, MFA, Conditional Access and email security.
• Own security posture: host hardening, firewalls, secrets management and incident response.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for critical services, including the Acurast blockchain bridge.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps, SRE or infrastructure roles.
• Strong Linux/Ubuntu system administration on self‑managed servers.
• Proficiency with Docker, Docker Compose and GitLab CI pipelines.
• Experience with Ansible and networking concepts (Nginx, TLS, VPN).
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals and identity‑access management.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
