Team Leader – High‑Performance Data Path (80‑100%)

About the role

Zurich Instruments is looking for a Team Leader to head its high‑performance data path team. You will drive CPU/GPU integration for next‑generation quantum‑computing instruments while shaping the team’s technical direction and culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the high‑performance data path team, focusing on CPU/GPU integration for next‑generation quantum‑computing instruments.
• Drive people development in partnership with HR, including hiring, coaching and performance management.
• Participate in architecture decisions for backend and server software, manage technical debt and improve delivery processes.
• Own feature delivery, coordinate with product management, agile development teams and the Engineering Productivity group.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience leading a software engineering team.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Professional C++ development.
• Experience with networking protocols and interfacing with firmware or specialised hardware.
• Familiarity with CUDA, Python or Rust (nice‑to‑have).
• Knowledge of RDMA/RoCE, high‑performance computing or low‑latency systems (nice‑to‑have).
