Trade Compliance Expert – Customs & Free Trade

About the role

As a Trade Compliance Expert you will join a dynamic team of intrapreneurs focused on customs regulations and free‑trade agreements. You will support Richemont’s international business by ensuring compliance, delivering training, and shaping strategic guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse customs regulations and free‑trade agreements, assess related risks and business impacts, and manage escalation processes.
• Design and deliver large‑class trainings on customs operational excellence and the use of free‑trade agreements.
• Collaborate with project managers to implement large‑scale initiatives in customs operations and trade‑agreement management.
• Draft top‑management memos, guidance documents, directives, tools, and internal communications on trade compliance.
• Develop and maintain expertise in trade compliance to support global stakeholders.
• Build and nurture a network of external partners (industry associations, consultants, authorities) to interpret regulatory changes and create compliance solutions.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent visual presentation abilities.
• Analytical mindset capable of summarising regulations and translating risks into business impacts.
• Proven ability to navigate complex organisational dynamics and influence senior management.
• 2‑3 years of experience in consultation, training, research or content writing within an international trade‑compliance environment.
• Master’s degree in Law, Economics or a related field (preferably from an EU, Swiss or US university).
• Fluent French (non‑negotiable) and English.
• Autonomous work style combined with a collaborative, consultative approach.
