Vice President, Indirect Spend Procurement

About the role

The Vice President of Indirect Spend leads Barry Callebaut’s global procurement function for indirect categories, shaping strategy, driving cost optimisation and risk mitigation while supporting business growth. Reporting to senior leadership, the role oversees a team of roughly 100 professionals across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global indirect procurement strategy that delivers cost savings, risk reduction and sustainable value.
• Lead sourcing and purchasing operations for categories such as logistics, energy, packaging, CapEx and professional services.
• Identify new purchasing opportunities, negotiate commercial and contractual terms, and manage supplier partnerships.
• Standardise and continuously improve procurement processes, tools, templates, KPIs and organisational design.
• Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to align procurement initiatives with overall objectives.
• Leverage technology and digital solutions to enhance sourcing effectiveness and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in FMCG or manufacturing, with at least 5 years leading a complex regional or global function.
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing methodologies and best‑practice procurement.
• Experience managing multiple indirect spend categories.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Leadership style that promotes teamwork, innovation, inclusion and high ethical standards.
• Willingness to travel internationally (~15%) and fluency in English.
