Accountant – 4‑month assignment for non‑profit in Geneva

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant for a four‑month fixed‑term assignment with a small not‑for‑profit organisation based in Geneva. The role combines day‑to‑day bookkeeping, grant accounting and remote training of a new colleague.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping in NetSuite, ensuring timely and accurate entries in line with internal procedures.
• Record monthly payroll for the entire organisation.
• Handle grant accounting from contract recognition through revenue recognition and support grant audits.
• Execute monthly and year‑end closure transactions, controls and related reporting.
• Provide structured, hands‑on remote training to a newly appointed accounting staff member in another country.

Required profile

• A diploma or certification in Accounting.
• At least five years of professional accounting experience.
• Knowledge of analytical accounting and Swiss GAAP accounting norms.
• Strong experience in daily bookkeeping, accounting closure and internal controls.
• Ability to work autonomously, under pressure and with high attention to detail.
• Fluent written and spoken English; French is an asset.
