Accountant (80-100%) – Finance Team

About the role

Unique AI is building a highly secure generative AI platform for the financial sector. We are looking for an Accountant to support our Finance team, combining a detail‑oriented approach with the pragmatic mindset needed in a fast‑moving start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Manage A/P and A/R invoices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and oversee expense management.
• Prepare timely P&L reporting for the Swiss entity and ensure data accuracy across financial reports.
• Take ownership of budgeting, planning, and controlling activities within the Finance team.
• Coordinate consolidation activities and work with external accounting partners for non‑Swiss subsidiaries (New York, London, Berlin, Singapore).
• Handle treasury management, VAT compliance, insurance requirements, and other statutory obligations.
• Provide administrative support to Finance, People & Culture, and general office management.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in accounting or financial controlling, preferably in a dynamic or growth‑oriented environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a relevant commercial apprenticeship.
• Strong analytical capabilities to translate data into clear insights.
• Entrepreneurial mentality with balanced decision‑making focused on impact.
• Collaborative team player able to build trust and communicate effectively across functions.
• Hands‑on, “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” attitude, willing to take on operational and admin tasks.
• Fluent in written and spoken German and English; French or Italian is a plus.
• Experience in a Treuhandbüro (accounting firm) is advantageous.
