Accountant - Accounts Payable and General Ledger
Jobgether
Job description
About the role
A partner company is recruiting an Accountant based in Switzerland to maintain accurate financial records and support accounting operations across an international group of regulated entities. The role takes ownership of Accounts Payable and contributes to the full accounting cycle, including month-end closing, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, tax compliance and audit preparation. It suits a detail-oriented professional who enjoys autonomy and works at the intersection of traditional finance and cryptocurrency.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end supplier payment process: invoice review, coding, approval workflows (ApprovalMax, Xero), payment preparation, supplier statement reconciliations and vendor master data maintenance.
- Prepare and manage journal entries, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closing across group entities with external accounting firms.
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage monthly intercompany reconciliations, recharges and settlements across entities.
- Support VAT reporting and other tax compliance (VAT returns, reverse charge, withholding taxes) with external tax advisors.
- Prepare audit files, coordinate information requests and support interim and annual audits.
- Identify improvements to financial controls and accounting workflows, and work with external service providers across jurisdictions.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5 years of accounting experience, ideally with an initial background in Big Four audit or accounting outsourcing.
- Experience with multi-entity organisations, intercompany accounting and preferably group consolidation.
- Hands-on Accounts Payable experience and experience supporting external audits.
- Excellent English; French is a plus.
- An interest in cryptocurrency or digital assets is an advantage.
Required skills
- General ledger accounting, financial closing, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Working knowledge of VAT and corporate tax; international VAT experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills; Xero and ApprovalMax are an advantage.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote, international team.
What we offer
- Annual performance bonus in BORG tokens and a welcome bonus.
- Remote and flexible working, with 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
- Learning budget, equipment and home office support, and team retreats.
- SwissBorg Premium account access and VSOP share options.
- International exposure across multiple regulated entities and jurisdictions.
