Acquisition Specialist 60% (m/f/d) - 8 months maternity cover

About the role

Caritas Switzerland, a relief organisation active in Switzerland and 20 countries, is looking for an Acquisition Specialist (60%, temporary, 8 months maternity cover) based in Lucerne. The Acquisition Unit finances the International Cooperation programmes through bilateral and multilateral donors, and the specialist supports the IC division in expanding its institutional acquisition competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and prepare project descriptions and funding applications for bilateral and multilateral donors, in close cooperation with the country programmes
• Support country programmes on acquisition: funding opportunities, donor requirements and applications
• Monitor donor-market trends and tenders, and verify eligibility conditions
• Develop and assess new funding sources
• Manage accounts of selected donors and maintain networks
• Standardise the acquisition process and update institutional knowledge
• Organise and moderate trainings, workshops and presentations on acquisition topics
• Represent the IC / Acquisition Unit at donor and professional events

Required profile

• University degree with proven knowledge in international cooperation, business/economics or communication
• Practical experience in project acquisition, fundraising, project management, CRM or similar; relevant work experience abroad is an asset
• Knowledge of actors and contexts in international cooperation
• Very good German, French and English, with strong written and oral communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
• Good organisational skills and accuracy under time pressure

The job includes short assignments abroad. The starting date is between 1 February 2027 and 30 September 2027, or as agreed. Applications are submitted through the online portal by 4 November.
