AI Engineer

About the role

Adaptyv is looking for an AI Engineer to turn existing AI‑driven capabilities into reliable, easy‑to‑use tools that power the company’s automated lab. This internal‑facing position focuses on process optimisation, packaging internal APIs, SDKs and AI assistants so that every team can work faster and more consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Wrap internal APIs (lab orchestration, instrument automation, experiment data) into clean, installable SDKs and MCP servers.
• Develop and enhance the lab‑wide AI assistant, improving its system prompt, skills, and API integrations.
• Convert manual business processes into automated agents and workflows (e.g., procurement alerts, invoice reconciliation, reporting pipelines).
• Aggregate experiment, commercial and operational data to generate insights and answer internal questions.
• Package, document and promote powerful but under‑used capabilities to become the default tools for the organization.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience delivering production‑grade internal tools.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and drive adoption of new platforms.
• Comfort with AI systems and integrating them into existing workflows.
