Assistant Director of Finance – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Mandarin Oriental, Geneva is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will help shape the financial strategy of a world‑class five‑star hotel and ensure accurate, compliant financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Finance in developing and implementing financial controls and accounting procedures in line with Group standards and Swiss regulations.
• Assist in analysing and preparing financial reports to identify profitability opportunities.
• Supervise and support the Accounting team to ensure smooth and efficient financial processes.
• Co‑manage the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, forecasts and analyses according to MOHG standards.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures, ensuring accurate postings and timely reconciliations.
• Oversee internal control mechanisms such as procurement, cash handling, payroll and inventories.
• Contribute to budgeting, capital planning and forecasting through detailed analysis and KPI reporting.
• Manage intercompany accounting across entities and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations for both properties.
• Prepare monthly and yearly IFRS standard reporting.
• Apply knowledge of CapEx and investment accounting processes, focusing on below‑GOP performance.

Required profile

• Solid professional experience in finance, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector.
• Excellent organisational skills and a structured, analytical approach to work.
• In‑depth understanding of hotel financial operations and Swiss regulatory requirements.
