About the role

The Assistant General Counsel – EMEA is a senior regional legal leadership position responsible for delivering high‑quality, commercially focused legal support to Waters’ businesses across the EMEA region. The role partners closely with commercial and field leadership teams to enable growth, manage risk, and ensure compliance with enterprise priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to commercial leaders across Waters Analytical Sciences, Advanced Diagnostics, BioSciences, and Material Sciences.
• Partner with Field Leadership Vice Presidents and their teams to support go‑to‑market execution and manage legal risk.
• Provide timely, pragmatic, business‑focused legal advice on a broad range of commercial matters.
• Coordinate and align legal guidance with the global Legal organization and peer Assistant General Counsels in other regions.
• Collaborate with the Deputy General Counsel and Associate General Counsels on strategic priorities and escalation of complex matters.
• Manage high‑volume legal demand through scalable processes and prioritize resource deployment.
• Advise regional functional teams such as Global Operations, IT, Finance, and other enabling functions.
• Work with Legal Operations and the Global Capability Centre in Bangalore to ensure consistency and efficient delivery of legal services.

Required profile

• Senior legal professional with extensive experience advising commercial teams.
• Strong judgment and ability to navigate risk, trade‑offs, and decision‑making in dynamic environments.
• Excellent coordination skills across global and regional legal teams.
• Experience operating within an enterprise risk framework and escalating complex matters appropriately.
• Proven ability to prioritize, implement process discipline, and manage high‑volume legal work efficiently.
