Associate - Deals Valuation and Modelling

About the role

PwC's deals team advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring, and the Valuation & Modelling team supports corporates, private equity investors and financial institutions on transactions, financing and strategic questions. As an associate, you will provide analysis and valuation services for mergers, acquisitions and other financial transactions, assessing the worth and potential risks of deals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform business valuations and valuations of individual assets and liabilities, such as intangible assets, for transactions, financial reporting (purchase price allocations, impairment tests) and tax matters (intra-group transfers, restructurings)
• Analyse business plans, value drivers, markets and peer companies, apply common approaches such as DCF and multiples, and turn findings into clear conclusions for clients
• Build and review financial models used for valuation, transaction and planning decisions
• Prepare reports and presentations, work directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues from Deals, Tax and Assurance on national and cross-border engagements
• Share knowledge and help bring data analytics and AI into daily work

Required profile

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Economics or a related quantitative field, ideally with a specialisation in corporate finance or accounting
• Good understanding of valuation, corporate finance and accounting, ideally with first practical experience such as an internship in valuation, transaction services, corporate finance or audit
• Fluent German and English; French is a plus
• Ability to work precisely and reliably on several projects in parallel under tight deadlines, independently and in a team

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills and enjoyment of working with numbers
• Confident with MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience in financial modelling is an advantage; interest in data analytics and AI tools
