Associate Director Experience Design

About the role

This position sits within DEPT®'s Experience & Engineering team for the DACH region, combining technology and experience design to deliver emotive, conversion‑focused digital products. As Associate Director you will lead pitches, win new business across DACH and EMEA, and oversee key projects to ensure user‑centered experiences that drive measurable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design excellence: set the standard for award‑winning design that exceeds user, brand and business requirements.
• Delivery accountability: own design quality and successful delivery, guiding teams and monitoring outcomes.
• Teamwork and collaboration: work closely with Strategy, UX, Content, Technology and international teams across EMEA.
• Thought leadership: represent DEPT® externally through speaking engagements and industry contributions.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in brand design, UX/UI, motion design and large‑scale design systems.
• Proven background in dynamic agency environments, collaborating with international brands and senior stakeholders.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end design vision, execution and measurable business impact.
• Curiosity and competence in digital trends, AI and emerging technologies.
• Excellent communication in German and English (C1 level) to translate design visions into compelling presentations.
