Associate Manager, Communications

About the role
The Associate Manager, Communications supports IFPMA’s strategic communications agenda, helping to shape policy messaging, produce high‑impact content, and coordinate activities across advocacy, policy, and member‑facing channels. Reporting to the Executive Director, Communications and Strategy, the role ensures visibility of IFPMA’s 2030 Strategy and related priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate planning and delivery of communications outputs for priority policy areas, including statements, Q&As, op‑eds, newsletters, website updates, social media content, member briefings and publications.
- Work with communications colleagues to prepare briefing materials for milestone events and governance meetings.
- Oversee member communication channels such as the monthly Communications Network meetings, weekly member newsletter and daily press review.
- Support proactive and reactive media engagement, message development, external positioning and coverage tracking.
- Maintain communications infrastructure, including contact databases, subscriptions and service renewals.
- Assist with stakeholder and issue mapping to inform advocacy and communications priorities.
- Contribute to internal performance tracking against the 2030 Strategy, including inputs to reports and monitoring tools.
- Foster collaboration across policy communications, digital communications, events and advocacy teams.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs or strategic policy communications.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong judgment and skill translating technical content into compelling external messages.
- Experience in global health, life sciences, policy or multilateral environments is preferred.
- Professional knowledge obtained through an undergraduate degree or equivalent apprenticeship, with additional certifications.
